SINCERELY, YOUR PAL INTEGRITY
There are a hidden amount of inches within the four walls of our gym. These inches are made up in choices, and these choices are ultimately what measure up to be our own individual Integrity. The choice to do all 20 reps. The choice to give a true Max Effort. The choice to be better than who you were yesterday.
Why do these hidden inches matter. Firstly, they are they hardest parts of your training, and they are the easiest to let go. No one will hear your thoughts, and the only person who can keep you accountable, is you. Secondly, they add up. If you decide to miss out on 20% of 100% of your efforts, that allot of missed inches, and time added to the duration of your journey towards your goals.
Here are two quotes I want to use to communicate what we are trying to understand here with Integrity.
"Character is doing the right thing when nobody's looking" - J.C Watts
Within our four walls, having the work ethic to train in a way that the whole world is watching, is a very easy way to become more accountable of having a higher sense of integrity with your training.
"Aw well, its a small class, no ones watching, why bother moving to the standards or doing all the reps"
Imagine you are watching yourself train like this, would you accept this, would you reward this?
The second quote is something that helps us apply our efforts outside the gym:
"How you do anything is how you do everything" - Peter Drucker
If you can walk out of the gym and say to yourself, I clawed for every possible inch, and did the best I could - You are going to be set up in a way to do the same with your work and home life. These traits, these habits we create, they have a way of transferring over.
Even on the days where we come into the gym feeling like we only have 30% to give. If you give 30%, that's still giving 100% of what you have to give. Overtime this will add up, and you will evolve yourself into the person you are striving to become.
Sincerely, your Pal, Integrity
