Analytics & Advertising
We use analytics and advertising tools to understand how our website is used and to measure the performance of our marketing. These include:
- Google Analytics 4 — website traffic and usage measurement
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — measuring the performance of our advertising
These tools use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser, and how you arrived at our site.
When you submit a form on our website (for example, an enquiry or newsletter signup), we may share a hashed version of the details you provide — such as your email address, phone number, and name — with Google and Meta to measure how well our advertising is working. Hashing scrambles the data one-way so it cannot be read back to identify you, and it happens in your browser before anything is sent.
Google and Meta process the information they receive under their own privacy policies. You can opt out of much of this tracking by disabling cookies in your browser or using the ad and privacy controls these providers offer. This Privacy Policy covers our own use of these tools but does not cover third-party advertisers’ websites.
Hybrid Theory Members App
Hybrid Theory Members is our companion app for current members (available on the App Store and Google Play, and at members.hybridtheory.co.nz). It lets you view your programming, log workout results, track benchmarks, and follow the daily gym whiteboard. This section explains what the app collects, in addition to the rest of this policy.
Through the app we collect:
- Your display name (shown on the whiteboard) and the email address your membership is under (used to send passwordless sign-in codes)
- The workout results, scores, and notes you choose to log
- A device push-notification token, if you turn notifications on (used to let you know when workouts are posted or classes change)
This information is used solely to operate the app. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and it is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Results you log are visible to other members on that day's whiteboard under your display name, unless you log them as Private. Sign-in codes are delivered by our email provider, and app data is stored with our hosting providers, some of whom may store it outside New Zealand; where this occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected.
You can delete individual results in the app at any time. To delete your app account and its data, ask at the front desk or email help@hybridtheory.co.nz.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of our website and services indicates your acceptance of any updates.
